"Grits!"

She sat straight up in bed.

Groggy hubby rubbed the sleep out of his eyes as he rolled over.

"What?"

"I need some. Grits." She flipped the covers off and stepped into her slippers.

"What are grits, anyway?"

"I don't even know, but they sound so good right now. I think there's butter involved."

He laughed and yawned. "Are you serious? You've never had them, but you want them?"

She batted her eyes and gave him her prettiest smile.

"Well," he chuckled and patted her indulgently on the head. "Get dressed. I'm taking you to Cracker Barrel for some grits, whatever they are."

She got her grits. She loved them. And she is going to buy some to keep at the house so hubby can get some extra sleep in the mornings.

The End.

Kevin's question sounds like the one we all asked mom when she told us what you ate! I also remembered there was butter involved! Hey, when we come up can you make some so we can get 'hooked' as well?
Love to you all
Beth

GRITS-Girls Raised In The South (I would be one of those). I am proud of you and will be glad to make you an honorary member. Ah, grits and butter (NOT margarine) any good Southerners breakfast. By the way did you know you can cut and fry left over grits? teehee.

Eww!! I can't believe you like grits! I tried them in Louisiana when I was in VCOM. I thought they were nasty - but then maybe it was a bad batch. I think they used margarine, maybe that was it.
You'll have to show us how to make them and maybe I'll try again :)

Many, many years ago I sent my new husband & daddy to be out for a hot dog around midnight. He faithfully went and searched high and low for my craving. This had to be a grilled hot dog with mayo and pickle :}
Well, by the time "faithful daddy to be/new hubby " arrived home, I was sound asleep!

Gotta love those cravings :-

oh, how very funny: "I don't know, but I think there's butter involved I love hearing about everyone's pregnancy cravings. Makes mine 'not so weird'! :) I had a ridiculous craving for lemonade. When I wasn't pregnant, I hated the stuff. But when I was--you might as well have put it in by intravenous. I drank it that much! LOL so hard over here!

How funny! I've never craved a grit...pregnant or otherwise. Hashbrowns? Now that's another story!

So very happy for you and Kevin.

You've never had grits before; you poor thing! Glad this baby finally got you to try them; now you'll be hooked for life.

Ella looooves her cheese grits. I personally like it best when I've mixed in my scrambled eggs and bacon pieces as well-yummy!
