Micah

(Translation: Sidebar: Micah's Diary, written by Micah Hooper. Dear Diary, I hope we get a baby girl in our family, I and my brother and my mom and my dad and my sister.)

Would you like to know why he wants a girl? Why, that would make the teams even for snowball fights, of course- three girls versus three boys, including Mama and Daddy!

The boy brings us delight with his desires and logic.

Nightly he prays for this, and nightly we follow his prayer with whispers of contentment - what will be will be; we gladly accept this *gift* with grateful hearts.

I love seeing how the older children in a family get so excited when another little one is going to be joining the family. So pure and so precious are their desires.

That is so sweet. I hope he keeps that precious heart of love and care for his family.

He writes. We smile (from ear to ear). God hears.

I send love and prayers, my friend...

How cute!

I believe it tells much about a family when the children in it are happy and excited to have a new sibling instead of being jealous or indifferent about the idea. (Your home must be full of love!)

Do you usually find out if you're having a boy or girl by ultrasound or is it a surprise?

It's exciting either way! :)

p.s. Are you planning to find out if it's a girl or a boy, or are you going for the delivery room surprise?

Before we knew that Naomi was a girl all of the children were praying and thinking that she would be a girl, too - for the same reason. :) Such fun. It so touched my heart especially that the boys wanted Grace to have a sister.

I think God has a soft spot for the prayers and hopes of children. Emma has been praying for a baby brother ever since before my second miscarriage, and low and behold, little Sawyer is on his way! She wasn't surprised, she exclaimed, "I prayed for a brother, so I know it's a boy!" Ah the faith of children...
