No Wonder!

No wonder my heart is glad, and I rejoice! My body rests in safety.
Psalm 16:9
I am rejoicing in the little things today: watering a growing garden in the early hours of the morning... hearing the adolescent rooster next door announcing the coming of day (after it has already arrived)... the aroma of pinto beans in the crockpot, simmering amidst a dozen cloves of garlic... washer swishing our bedding... sweaty, sleepy arms reaching for me from her bed...

No wonder.

I just stumbled upon your blog from "With Great Joy"'s blog and printed out the "Praying for Our Children" chart she referenced. Thank you! I'm looking forward to putting it to good use! And such a lovely and encouraging blog you have! I'll be back:). Many blessings to you and your dear family!

Thank you for the reminder of all the little sources of joy. Right now I'm rejoicing in the summer thunderstorm that is watering my thirsty plants and the fresh, rainy smell coming in through the open windows.

I also have a big one... our sweet new son arrived yesterday, safe and whole. Now we are certainly kindred spirits. :)

Rejoicing with you today, my friend... for how often the Father shows His love for us in the "little things"!

Psalm 16 is one of my favorite passages, especially verse 11...

Thinking of you, missing you, praying for you, and hoping all is well with you. I know I've been rather scarce lately, but I do think of you so often.

Love you!

Love and peace to you Elise! Glad to hear that things are going well- I've been praying! What a cool verse. And how timely...my Z has been struggling with feeling safe (his SPD has been bad lately) and this would be a great verse to memorize with him.

I am getting such a giggle out of that rooster. There's a rooster down the street that apparently thinks that the sun is coming up all day long...and I guess, he's right in a way!

My heart resonates with this. The smell of fresh cut grass, the laundry drying on the line, children running through the sprinkler...all reasons to praise our Father above. Summer is bursting with praise!

Elise,

Life is not always about those big moments, but about the journey the the small ones. After a trying pregnacy with my third son, I have learned to appreciate all sorts of simple things in life. Enjoying a bubble bath after a long day. The hugs my little one gives me first thing in the morning. The silence of the home before anyone but me has stumbled out of bed. When we slow down, we are able to see all the wonders of our Father who died so that we could enjoy this journey.

Have a blessed evening,

Minsister Mamie L. Pack
