memorizing G

because he is so very memorable...

::the faux hawk.

mm-hmm.

::oh, and while we're up close and personal, the space between his top teeth. i just want to curl up and take a nap there. (not really, but you understand, don't you?)

::how he unconsciously pinches my collarbone while I sing his bedtime song.

::bringing my leg over the gate, and he's always right there... but suddenly, he's too tall for me to step over, and i hop frantically and he laughs and we're breathless.

::he's a chocolate lover. just like mama! it's our favorite treat, and we savor it together, hiding behind the cabinets in the kitchen.

::how he switches his lovey from right hand to left when he leans to turn on his fan. no more dropping a toy to pick up another, or feeling confused when confronted with another item. just switches hands.

::how he dances with his sissy!

::and we must read the same book over and over and over and over... sound effects, pointing to the doggies... are you surprised?

::the sudden switch to holding my hand while I cook, rather than clinging to my leg. it's lovely and sweet and sad for me all jumbled up into one...

::he's also a bird lover. his very first animal sign. and when i'm talking to him, he will fade out over my shoulder, watching his friends visit the bird feeder at the dining room window. i will gladly share the attention of my G. but only for a moment...

::because moments like these are all mine (but you'll see how those clever birds steal him away once again):

(he *cheesy smiles* in between almost every sound (thinking I'm taking a picture rather than a video), he's looking over my shoulder for birds outside the window, and truthfully? i could listen to the kitty's "da-boooooooow" all. day. long. couldn't you?)

so, *sigh*. this is my G. my Gideon Justus. I'm still in love. he's my shadow, my laugh-maker, my story-time snuggler.

and i am thanking my God every day for this little miracle. and praying for the wisdom (and stamina!) to raise my little man. praying that perhaps, one day, he'll be as strong as his big brothers, sending roots deep, tearing out some Old Stumps of his own.

some day.

They grow so quickly...

what a sweet little guy. hard to believe how fast they grow. I recall when he was born and so new. And those eyes...you must get lost in them all the time.

Oh, I just LOVE this. Makes me want to do the same with my little ones. Because I never want to forget their sweet expressions and sounds and this precious stage of their life!

G is so handsome and sweet!

Love you, Elise....

A miracle he is! The time goes, doesn't it? I just wrote about the joy-grief that sometimes hits a mama as our babies grow. sigh. I'm glad we have each other to understand ;)

Such a treat to see G move and talk. :-) Benjamin thought it was a treat, too, as he sat smashed against my side pointing to the "baby." (Actually, all my children gathered round to watch.)

Oh Elise, he's scrumptious! And when did he get so big? Where does the time go?

Sending lots of love from all of us to all of you!

Oh my goodness!!! I LOVE THIS POST!!! It was sooo fun (and amazing b/c I haven't seen all this yet) to watch his video and see what he knows.
Ryan and I were talking about him yesterday at lunch. We were talking about how he waves (or whatever it is) when he talks. We love it.

Very Sweet. Aren't you glad it's so very easy for us to capture these moments forever?!!

We have that same FireTruck book (it's Brian's copy from when he was a little boy:).

I'll have a Review up, but probaby not until tomorrow night. We've had a very busy few days.
