Look What We Found in the Garden!

Eliana and I are the two tomato lovers in this home, so we were the only ones rejoicing when I came in from the garden with two little beauties this morning! I promptly sat down in the kitchen with a paper towel and took a juicy bite, while Eliana, who is teething, cranky, clingy, and picky about all food that enters her mouth this week, traipsed over to me and took her place in my lap.

We ate every single bite of that warm, fresh, summer tomato! I'm saving the other for an afternoon snack. I'll probably put it in the window so it stays warm, too - that's the best way to eat 'em!

Enjoy the little show - Corban took the pictures, standing an appropriate six feet away; that's as close as he would get to this silliness!

Have a blessed weekend, friends!

Oh, I just LOVE the pictures. What a sweet moment to share with your daughter. I'm not a huge fan of tomatos myself, but I do so enjoy watching favorite foods being passed down the line. =)

Have a wonderful weekend, my friend!

Oh man. Nothing says summer like eating tomatoes fresh out of the garden just like apples.

Personally, my favorite is a fresh sliced tomato sandwich on white bread with real mayo, salt and pepper.

: ) Summer at its finest.

Love the pics!

mmmm...I love homegrown tomatoes! I am so happy you have red ones ready to eat. We have started to get cherry tomatoes, but our full size ones haven't turned red yet. I can't wait!

Oh, I am laughing at myself because a few posts down I had you and Andrea switched around. "Why is Andrea serving Eliana her first tomato?" I ask myself. lol!

What a disgusting display of vegicide! The only thing redeeming these pictures are the two lovely ladies.

Yum- looks like love to me!

My dear Knight picked me one from our garden, it wasn't as red as yours, but as it was handed to me with great love...I ate it up and it was tasty!

Thanks for the view of summer through your garden!

Elise, I've been visiting on and off for a while, and I'm sorry I've been a 'lurker' until now! I so love your gentle, lovely spirit :)

These pictures are so delightful, thanks for sharing them!! There is something totally unique about eating a perfectly ripe homegrown tomato, freshly picked after a warm summer's day. So glad your little one enjoyed it! It's so wise to get them to taste of everything from really early on, as they are far less fussy later on and so much more willing to try new things.

Will be back soon

Ah, anticipation! Mine are just starting to glow yellowish, and I'm keeping an eye on them to try to get the ripe ones before the turtles/coons/deer do. Every year it is a race, but the rewards are amazing. Blessings on feeding your children homegrown veggies -- they will never taste anything better their whole lives through.

I am SO jealous!! I want a bite! Every time I try to grow vegs. the squirrels eat them all. That's okay, it's the season now and I'll be able to get them everywhere. I hate to brag, Elise, but you haven't tasted anything until you have a Jersey tomato! :)Enjoy the rest of your weekend. Talk to you next week.

Mmm-- I'm jealous! We are harvesting cucumbers and zucchini galore in our garden this year, but for some reason our tomatoes are not doing well at all.
I loved seeing the pictures-- the two of you are so sweet and so lovely. And Mr. Corban is quite the photographer!

This is so sweet! A precious Mommy/daughter moment! Although, I could have done without those slimy, seedy tomatoes :) But it looks like Eliana enjoys them :)

Thank you so much for the reflection award! I don't really know what to say as I don't quite feel deserving. I will be posting about this later this week.

Thanks again!

I would probably be standing back with Corban. :) Not a big fan of tomatoes, but so cute you can share a fresh treat together with your daughter. Love it!

I love fresh, summer tomatos!!How I miss them as well!! I have thought about growing some potted tomato plants here but we have such a jungle bug problem ~ I am not sure they would survive. I loved seeing pictures of you as well! Blessings!
