Today, Eliana and I found time to redecorate the Fisher's home - Fisher Price, that is! We laid on our tummies and furnished the schoolhouse next door, created a playground in the front, and organized the Fisher's home into a comfy nest.
We had a bit of a disagreement over where to put the changing table - I preferred it to be in the master bedroom, but she really thought it was best in the family room. I suppose it is more convenient for Mama, since she is downstairs most of the day anyway.
I found delight in arranging the tiny furniture with my little one. She took to nodding "yes" when I asked her questions such as, "Do you think the bed should go here?" and, "Do you want to put the baby in the highchair for dinner?" And when I insisted that the children should be put in their beds, for it was nearly naptime, she thought for a moment, then quietly laid Brother and Sister Fisher in their flat beds. (The foam is missing, of course!)
My daily delights are many - I take them in with a thankful heart, and eyes that see.

Send forth your light and your truth,
let them guide me;
let them bring me to your holy mountain,
to the place where you dwell.
Then will I go to the altar of God,
to God, my joy and my delight.
I will praise you with the harp,
O God, my God.
Why are you downcast, O my soul?
Why so disturbed within me?
Put your hope in God,
for I will yet praise him,
my Savior and my God. (Psalm 43:3-5)

You have a beautiful blog! I am glad I stumbled upon it.
I am sorry for your lose.
And I look forward to reading some of those books with Samuel!

Oh, how I miss that stage. :(
Even moreso when I consider how I let it fly right past it with the younger two--they were there to entertain one another and I had a 3rd grader to teach.
Enjoy it, Elise!
How wonderful! I love her insisting on the placement of the changing table!! I never thought of that issue since we live in a single story home!!
Also, I have noticed your titles....
Eliana brought a smile to my face as usual. She is so darling.I am so, so glad you have her to play with. I love dolls and pretend kitchens. Selena put her real bottle in her pretend refrigerator today, and when I asked her where her bottle was, she replied "A-way!" So much fun.
I can't wait to play dollhouse with her.
I am so glad you are finding daily joys, dear Elise, and that you are sharing them with us!
I'm so very thankful that you are able to find joy in your "little" blessings these days. The Lord is good!
Oh, ***SO*** fun! My girl wants to play with ours much less than she used to, but we had us some good times with that dollhouse!

So glad you have been able to really take in these moments and enjoy them. Sometimes the best healing comes in the form of counting blessings, enjoying life's simplicities. There is a time for mama to lead with great passion and energy and a time for her to just BE and lead with simple acts of love and interest. Take your time sweet friend, there is no magic time table. All my love! I'm itching to make my way your way, perhaps soon.
Love, Sarah
what a precious day! you're such a good mama.
I remember those days! Oh how sweet.
No way!!
We have the *exact* house and the *exact* schoolhouse, along with many of the accessories I see. They are toys from my husband's childhood days...
Eliana looks so big!

Your blog is so sweet, it reminds me to just *be*....thank you...
She is so sweet - her pictures always remind me a lot of one of my nieces!
As always, hearing your interactions with your children blesses me so much... such an example. :)
I'm so glad He's giving you joy, and that you have eyes to see.
What a wonderful way to spend your morning! I treasure those times with Devyn too. We've taken to having "tea" every day in the afternoons. There is nothing more special than watching my baby girl pour me some tea and present it with such pride. =)
I am so sorry that I missed your call. Life has been a flurry of travel, vacation, and life happenings. But I am looking forward to cuddling up with a cup of coffee and giving you a call. Then we can chat to our heart's delight. Hope you are doing well, friend, I think of you often!
How cute is she?? I just want to kiss those cheeks!
Thank you for sharing those sweet moments with us-- so precious.
And we had that same Fisher Price dollhouse when I was little!
Oh my gosh I had that exact same toy when I was little! I found you from the Family BlogRoll it's nice to meet you.
Oh, how sweet! I grew up playing with that very house, and my parents still have it for the grandkids when they come over. I can't wait to someday have a dollhouse for my daughter. What a sweet time you had with her.
Praying for God's continued peace.
Rebeca
