Daily Joy

I bet you wouldn't think hot flashes to be a joy, would you?

A side effect of my miscarriage has been sudden hot flashes, brought on by hormones settling down to a normal level I suppose. I found the loveliest remedy today -

Cherry and Blue Raspberry popsicles out on the deck! Sitting in that tiny space with a tool box for my chair, I cooled down nicely, thank you, and with two of my favorite boys.

Popsicle weather is almost over - and so are my hot flashes, I'd wager. I plan to indulge in these popsicle dates with my boys as often as possible until that happens.

I will refresh the weary and satisfy the faint. (Jeremiah 31:25)
He will, indeed. With any form he chooses- red and blue food coloring not excluded.

You are still in my prayers.

As I am muddling through peri-menopause and the recurring hot flashes I will have to have to remember popsicles. My boys surely wouldn't mind.

Blessings,

Julie

Dear Elise,

I'm haven't been "blog~land" these days, I've missed coming here. I don't have a blog, but yours is one of my favorite places to visit!

I was so sad to read about your miscarriage...

I am officially going through menopause myself and having those aweful hot flashes daily. My heart goes out to you!

Loved the picture of you and your men!

Praying God will truly refresh, restore and satisfy you completely.

Just got back from a Deeper Still Conference with Beth Moore. She taught on dealing with devastation. I was honored to go with a large group of St. Jude moms.

Sorry for rambling...

Blessings to you and your family,

Susan

Oh yes, I remember the hormone plunge! I don't remember the hot flashes as well as...well...other strong reactions. ;)

This is certainly not your problem but I have to say the photos of you in the last two posts make me a little sad. I had a dear friend who looks like you - long hair and all and when she got trims they were ten-inchers donated to "Lots to Love."

When we left our old church (because we couldn't agree with what it was doing). She and I managed to stay in touch for awhile. But now it has been nearly a year...it is sad. Somehow without the connection of church we drifted apart. Her oldest was the same age as my oldest. Charis misses Kaatje too. I've tried getting together with them and it never seems to work.

I know this isn't your problem but it is nice to just say what is on one's mind occasionally. Thanks for letting me ramble.

So cute you and your boys with popsicles! I thought that was so sweet of Corban to bring you a glass of water right when you needed it. You are raising him well. That's my goal for my family this year--to teach them to love and serve one another.
