This is the Life

While brothers work at phonics and division facts, sister sits on her potty in a corner of the schoolroom, pile of unread books on her left, pile of finished books on her right. A snack in front, a place to set her cup- what more could a two-year-old potty-trainee ask?

(Mama thinks that looks awfully nice- perhaps a pile of books to greet me when I lurch to heave over the toilet in the morning? A glass of water set on a pretty table? Though I'd rather skip the peanut butter bites and mini millet muffins, thank you. ~shudder~)

Hello Elise, I've been lurking and reading your blog for ages. I so enjoy your perspective and your poetry. I found you through Joy in the Journey. Your blog about Modeling was so transparent and vulnerable of you - thank you. I've been down that road more times than I care to recall, but thank goodness for his grace and mercy and forgiveness! Then it's our opportunity to model for our children repentance and the road to restoration.
I have an Elise I am currently potty training too. :) Have a great weekend. Hang in there with the sickies.

Sweet One, My Daddy has cancer just everywhere in his body. His usual pose is with an emesis basin tucked so securely under his chin. Tonight, however, he had a new pose. His arms (including the paraylized one) were raised in Praise to the One who saved him. He accepted Jesus as his Savior! This was not enough for him...he wanted me to go immediately to his roomate and have me put my hands on him in prayer :-) To all who read this, Daddy said "This all comes 30 years too late"

I am praising the Lord with you, friend! I pray your Daddy can fully appreciate the time he has left here, with his Savior. What a gift this time is with them in your home!
I will think of him when I feel sick, and try to raise my arms in praise to the One who has saved me. And your Daddy. :)

How adorable she is-so dainty, even on the potty!

Sorry you're still nauseated! Mine lasted longer this time, but thankfully left at 16 weeks.

Hi, Elise! We're potty training Gabriel, too. But he's much less about the process and more about getting the job done as quickly as possible. Sometimes I think he wasn't done yet...because he goes again a few minutes later! Girls are so fun and your Eliana is so very sweet.

I pray your queasiness passes soon - but it's all for an unspeakable cause!
