They come, lingering at my doorway, clothes smelling of smoke from the fire they helped to build in the backyard.
Quietly they come near, and tentatively reach out their hands to rest on me. Concentration knits Corban's brow, slight confusion on Micah's face. Their eyes flash up to mine, questioning.
"Wait..." I whisper, breathing a prayer for a special blessing. Oh, please...
And it comes. Little Brother moves within me, and it is as if the sun has risen in my bedroom. Smiles flash across brown faces, eyes light up, and laughter breaks forth.
"I felt it!" "I did, too!" We quiet, waiting for more. A kick. A roll.
We gasp, and laugh, and chatter, quieting in between to feel our strong little man.
And then he rests.
Hands reluctantly move from my belly to around my neck. "Oh, thank you for calling us, Mama!" They turn to run back outside, but Corban stops in the doorway. Amber eyes gaze seriously into mine.
"Isn't God so, so good?"
Always, Precious.

I love those precious moments! I don't think I'll ever forget the feelings of a baby moving within. And, I loved sharing those moments with the older siblings. God is so good!
Oh I immediately teared up and smiled with his words. So sweet and so so good. So true.
Thank you for sharing, your words always find a way to nestle in my mind and heart. They play over and over sometimes during my day, and I am so happy to hear them.
Thank you, friend.
We leave for a surgery at 4:30 am.
I am feeling overwhelmed. And your words... a balm.
And I join you in song:
"I will lift my eyes to the Healer..."
And I grab your hand, give thanks to Jesus for YOU. He uses you, Elise.
He IS good. All the time. Always.
