Eyes Open

Two weeks ago, we added solids to go with mama's milk, and now...

...how he adores his millet cereal in the morning and peas in the evening! He likes to show them to us, too, after he's moved them around his mouth a bit.

But we don't mind.

For our Gideon Justus turns one next Saturday. One.

And I'm trying not to dig my heels into the dirt and squeeze my eyes shut too tight.

'Cause if I do, I'll miss that smile. That green smile, yes.

And I'm singing with Chris Rice...

~Teach us to count the days
Teach us to make the days count
Lead us in better ways
That somehow our souls forgot
Life means so much
Life means so much

Every day is a gift
you've been given
Make the most of the time
Every minute you're living~
.
Eyes open. Deep breath.

Eyes open.

One ALREADY?!?!

Oh, Elise. It seems like you just announced his birth! :)

I've been thinking *so* much lately that I simply want to treasure each moment~ it is so good, all of it, isn't it? He is so good to lavish such precious gifts upon us.

Love to you, friend.

I can't believe its already been one year since we sat in your bed with precious G and watched Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. He was soooo tiny! He is such a big boy now - I love him! (I am loving the teeth, too!)

What a precious smile - green and all!!
Yes Elise - treasure each moment of every day. I have been feeling a bit sad that our youngest grandchild started school this year. How can that be? Where have the years flown to? I read your posts and it seems like only yesterday I was where you are.
Blessings to you dear one. I have spent a pleasant couple of evenings reading through your archives. Do you know how much you bless? Thank you.

I am shocked that he is almost one! Where did this year go? 6 months perhaps but one? Wow!

Are days are like a vapor....

Time goes by so fast.

One already? We crossed that milestone back on the 7th, yesterday Eli took his first real step alone.

I don't want to miss a minute of it and so long to remember every detail.

We started with millet cereal too.
He is a darling, Elise.

I really can hardly believe it, either. I feel like he just wasn't that old when my Will came along. Which means... it really won't be that long before it's our turn. Taking deep breaths...

Love the picture - what a sweet, sweet boy.

That Chris Rice song is one of our favorites. I love to hear my husband sing it.

How did I miss this?! ONE?! (My we've been "friends" for such a long time, then!) Oh happy day--blessings all yours and ten thousand besides!!! The way you mother, even on the not-so-sunny-days, always inspires.
