Bedtime Song

He sings.

All the time. Any old song.

Silly songs. Hymns. Nursery rhymes. Christmas carols. Even if we're singing to ourselves, and he doesn't know the words, he bobs his head and sways and does his best to keep up.

But the bedtime song?

It melts us. Every night.

Here's a peek, just for you.

Hear my cry, oh God.
Attend unto my prayer!
From the ends of the earth
Will I cry unto You.

And when my heart is overwhelmed
Lead me to the Rock
That is higher than I...
That is higher than I.

(This is also our middle-of-the-night, bad dream, sick tummy, and owie song. Makes us all feel better!)

Oh, Elise...

So, so, cute. I love how expressive he is, wagging his cute little head as he sings to God! :)

(You have a good voice!)

Absolutely precious and adorable. What an amazing thing for a little one to sing....young and yet worshipping. Beautiful! You have a bee-you-tiful voice, by the way!!
Blessings,

Thank you so much for sharing this Elise! He looks like he is so enjoying music and special time sharing music and worship with his mama :) It's reminded me to enjoy these times with my own kids and not take their enjoyment for granted. So precious :)

Help me swim out of my tears! What a little sweetheart you have. It reminds me of the days very early on when I would recite "What time I am afraid, I will trust in Thee". By two years old my little one could recite this on his own before bedtime.

Oh! I never quite got back to answering Candace's question! :) I did not set these words to music, it is a song I learned in church and grew up with- don't quite know how many years it's been, but it permanently stamped in my memory and my heart.

One of those passages that has drawn me back to Him over and over throughout the years...
