Children's Book Monday: Summerish

This week, I wanted to share a smattering of favorites from our spring/summer book basket. Perhaps you can find them in time to enjoy through the last bit of spring, as sunny summer approaches!

Just Me
by Marie Hall Ets

Mimicry of farm animals- fun for everyone!

The Year at Maple Hill Farm
by Alice and Martin Provensen

We so enjoy observing the seasons change at Maple Hill Farm, brought to life by the incomparable Provensen's. A school room favorite, too!

A Child's Garden of Verses
by Robert Louis Stevenson
illustrated by Tasha Tudor

A classic- and finds its way into every season of our nature basket! (There is also a copy illustrated by the Provensen's, but we always come back to the soft and simple figures and colors of Tasha Tudor!)

A Tree is Nice
by Janice May Udry
illustrated by Marc Simont

There is beauty everywhere... for eyes that see...

Oh, What a Busy Day!
by Gyo Fujikawa

Precious pictures + whimsical poetry + beautiful nature + happy children = Perfection!

Happy Reading! And Happy Memorial Day! (No linking this week- enjoy your holiday!)

We LOVE A Tree is Nice, and The Year at Maple Hill Farm! And how I wish we had Tudor's Illustrations for our Garden of Verses, but we make do with a "classically illustrated" version...it's on our wish list though!
Thank you for sharing, we'll have to check the library for others.
No review for me tonight, Memorial Day is very special for our family, and Daddy has "secret plans" for us tomorrow, so I'm off to bed. Enjoy your holiday.
**I also wanted to say that your last post was wonderful, and when I get some alone/quiet time (?) I will comment on it. But, until then, thank you...
