I love you.
Remembering tonight what the days were like a year ago at this time, this season of Thanksgiving. It holds so much more hope and grace even now.
Tonight I danced with Eliana, and thought of you. I knew, were you here, that you would join us in a heartbeat. A heartbeat. I wish I lived close enough to lay my head on your chest and listen to the thump-thump...thump-thump... of your strong heart. I send love across the miles.

And now in age I bud again,
After so many deaths I live and write;
I once more smell the dew and rain,
And relish versing: O my onely light,
It cannot be
That I am he
On whom thy tempests fell all night.
These are thy wonders, Lord of love,
To make us see we are but flowers that glide:
Which when we once can finde and prove,
Thou hast a garden for us, where to bide.
Who would be more,
Swelling through store,
Forfeit their Paradise by their pride.

Oh, Elise. I didn't know. I clicked over and read t.d., and am so glad for you that you have had this year with him. May his heart continue to beat strong for years to come.
(I especially liked reading about your youngest sister.)
You have such a gift with words, Elise. Thank you for sharing your heart. It encourages and strengthens my own.
I agree w/what Jen said..you definitely have a gift with words.
A beautiful tribute to your Papa. God is so gracious and merciful, is He not? I'm sure your papa is as thankful for you, as you are for him. He sounds like a wonderful man of God.
Oh, my precious t.d., these days are especially poignant for me as well. We have celebrated the splendid grace given for healing and overcoming. The remembrance of those days, with you caring for your sisters and brother while Mama sat with me - they are precious times. Glad you are reminiscing with us as well.
Precious words of remembrance and of praise for His grace and faithfulness. I thank our Father with you for preserving the life of your dear Papa!
I am so thankful with you!

Elise,
This is so lovely. I read your other post about your Papa and it brought sweet tears. The way that you share your heart is so beautiful. I'm thankful with you that he is well.
Has it really been a year?!
Praise God!!!
What a sweet, sweet, thing.
love you!!
Thank you for sharing these words with us. This past June I lost my earthly father to prostrate cancer, but I know that there is a Father that has never died, sitting on a throne in heaven.
